Allen Dupree

Allen Dupree graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Mining Engineering in 1986 and began working for MSHA’s Ventilation Division in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1995 he transferred to Madisonville, Kentucky as a coal mine inspector and was promoted to several management positions in both enforcement and engineering divisions. He served as a member of MSHA’s mine rescue team for over ten years and was involved in over twenty mine fire and explosion rescue and recovery operations. He also served as the director of the national coal mine rescue contest and chairman of the international mine rescue body. In 2008 he accepted the position of Vice President with Alpha Natural Resources located in Abingdon, Virginia. Alpha controls mining operations in Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Wyoming with approximately 6.500 employees.
