JOHN ANGWIN


John Angwin joined the Tenneco Minerals mine rescue team in 1982. He served as team captain for several years before assuming the duties of team trainer. John participated in several rescue efforts, including the successful recovery operation following the massive ground failure at the Solvay Chemical Mine in 1995. His teams have participated in many regional competitions as well as 12 National Mine Rescue Contests. John's involvement in mine rescue has always been pro-active and his suggestions have resulted in the adoption of several changes that benefited mine rescue. John currently represents his regional association as a member of the Metal and Nonmetal National Mine Rescue Advisory Committee.
