Cull Yard Safety

Safety Something YOU can live with!
Mine Type: Surface Stone
Category: General Safety

Safety Tip: Prepare a firm, level work area for the placement of blocks of stone.

Recently, a miner died when, while sorting dimension limestone to be sawn, he was crushed between two stone blocks. The blocks were placed about three feet apart on uneven ground in a "cull yard". The miner had walked between the blocks, when one toppled against the other, fatally injuring him.
