The Technical Compliance and Investigations Office is responsible for the overall Administration of the National Special Investigations Program that pertains to the investigation of discrimination complaints filed under Section 105(c) of the Mine Act by miners, representatives of miners, or applicants for employment; or to the investigation of knowing or willful violations under Section 110 of the Mine Act. The Office provides guidance, oversight and program evaluation. The evaluations are designed to measure the effectiveness of the Program by conducting field audits, technical reviews, and management surveys.
