Stay Out Stay Alive

Gastonville Elementary Center
Finleyville, PA.

On April 16, Mark Schultz and Debbie Tomko visited Gastonville Elementary Center in Finleyville, Pennsylvania to speak about mine safety utilizing the "Stay Out - Stay Alive" program. Third and fifth graders learned about the many dangers that various types of mines present and the dangers associated with those mines. They were also shown protective gear worn by MSHA personnel and how it helps them to safely perform their jobs. Last year, these same students visited NIOSH's Safety Research Coal Mine located near MSHA's offices at the Bruceton Facility.
