Stay Out Stay Alive

SOSA Event Photo Gallery
Chipeta Elementary School
in Grand Junction, Colorado

Brad Allen, a Mine Safety and Health Inspector in Delta, Colo., recently gave a "Stay Out, Stay Alive" (SOSA) presentation at Chipeta Elementary School in Grand Junction. Allen had 25 third grade students participate in the event, and also provided SOSA literature to 69 third graders. In addition to discussing the importance of staying out of abandoned mines, the students also had the opportunity looked at gas detection equipment, respirable and noise samplers, steel toed boots were and checked out other common mining related personal protective equipment.

The presentation really impacted the children because the SOSA video includes a portion from an incident that happened in Grand Junction.

Thanks for continuing to spread the word to kids through SOSA!
