Shown are some of the components of the fire suppression system located in the operator’s compartment. The CHECKFIRE MP (Mine Permissible) fire suppression system provides both manual and automatic activation capability along with audible and visual warning of a fire. The system provides fire detection for the engine including the starter, transmission, hydraulic pumps and tank, fuel tank, and air compressor. Some of the components of the system are shown including the electrical control module and the automatic system actuator. The actuation gas cylinder shown provides the system with gas pressure necessary to initiate automatic activation of the system. (NOTE: Automatic activation capability is not a requirement for permissible equipment.)
