    30 CFR 75.1911(i) requires that each fire suppression system be tested and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended inspection and maintenance program and as required by the nationally recognized independent testing laboratory listing or approval. The system must be visually inspected at least once each week by a person trained to make such inspections.

    The weekly visual inspection should be thorough enough to verify that the system is being properly maintained. This would be accomplished by observing that the system has not been tampered with and there is no obvious physical damage or condition to prevent operation.
