The temperature of any external surface of the power package including engine and intake and exhaust components must not exceed 302 degrees Fahrenheit. Hot components are water-jacketed and use engine coolant water to control surface temperature. The power package of the machine is equipped with a safety component system which includes a sensor to continuously monitor the temperature of the cooling water for the engine and the water jacket of exhaust components. The sensor is set to activate before the temperature exceeds 212 degrees Fahrenheit and cause the engine to stop by shutting off fuel to the engine.
